The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the extension of the deadline for issuing its final conclusion on a trade remedy duty evasion investigation into hardwood plywood imported from Viet Nam.
Experts urged wood exporters to diversify markets, standardise supply chains and be well equipped with trade defense knowledge in the face of increasing trade protectionism.
Earnings from wood exports are predicted to exceed US$3.77 billion for
the first nine months of this year, up 12 per cent on 2012 figures,
according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
